I'm a bit confused. Nubian was a transnational identity. Many Egyptians were Nubian and the nascent Egyptian state was Culturally Nubian. Shouldn't a distinction be made between Nubian and Kushite?

You can't make any groundbreaking discoveries in Sudan sadly as global archeology is heavily biased and what the west calls Nubia aka Sudan is NOT considered a western civilization by western standards like how Egypt is considered western

I don't understand why he pretended the northern / and first successful/ DNA sequencing study doesn't also reflect the lineage of those subjects as well. It's disingenuous and a red flag for me. Especially, with phenotype testing, advances are happening fast. I hope his theories are prepared to hold up.

From a 2023 ancient Egyptian DNA study. Genetic study of ancient Egyptian human remains dating from the Predynastic Period to the early Islamic Period (ca. 4000 cal. BCE-800 cal. CE) Alexandra Mussauer, Christina Wurst, Alice Paladin, Valentina Coia, Frank Maixner, Albert Zink New Horizons in Biomolecular Archaeology (ISBA10), 2023 "Due to high-throughput sequencing and targeted enrichment methods, ancient DNA (aDNA) analysis is emerging as a valuable tool for the investigation of ancient Egypt’s demographic history. However, the recovery of aDNA from Egyptian human remains is challenging due to poor DNA preservation and a high contamination risk. Thus, so far, less than five ancient Egyptian genome-wide datasets have been published. In addition, mitochondrial genomes are almost exclusively limited to a timespan ranging from the New Kingdom to the Roman Period (1550 BCE-395 CE) as well as to a single archaeological site (Abusir el-Meleq). To extend the pool of ancient Egyptian genome datasets, both mitochondrial and genome-wide, we report the results of a genetic study of 100 ancient Egyptian human remains. Overall, these individuals exhibit an endogenous human DNA content between 0.01% and 40.84%. Using an enrichment capture targeting the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), we were able to reconstruct complete mitogenomes for 25 individuals dating from the Predynastic Period to the Coptic Period (ca. 3500 cal. BCE-650 cal. CE) and encompassing the archaeological sites of Asyut, Akhmim, Deir el-Bahari, Deir el-Medina, Thebes, the Valley of the Queens, and Gebelein. These genomes exhibit a mtDNA haplogroup diversity similar to ancient Egyptian haplogroup profiles published by Schuenemann et al.(2017). This provides further evidence for shared maternal ancestries between western Eurasian or northern African populations and ancient Egyptians during and after the New Kingdom. In addition, we also found western Eurasian mtDNA haplogroups in individuals dated to periods prior to the New Kingdom. Furthermore, we performed a whole-genome enrichment capture on seven individuals to test these findings also on a genome-wide scale. Overall, this study provides further insights into the demographic history of ancient Egyptians considering a broader geographical context and the older periods of Egypt’s past."

Is Alex Jones ( David Bowie's daughter) black? Or is Meaghan Markle white? If you understand my point..then why is it so hard to accept that in the 209 years that Cleopatra's great grandfather that lived over a thousand miles away in Rome somehow didn't have concubines from sub Saharan Africa is as disingenuous as saying DNA studies proved that original Egyptians are from Europe. And actually I'm still baffled at how Bassem Youseff claims that Ancient Egypt is part of Arab history when not one single artifact is scribed in Arabic language. But it's ok I guess.

The ancient Egyptians clearly atated that they come from the beginning of the nile where the God Hapi dwells at the foothills of the mountain of the moon this information can be found in declaration in The Papyrus of Hunefer, the ancient Book of the Dead. The Beginning of The Nile is in Reference to the Nile river Great Lake estuary which is East Africa The Mountains of The Moon refers to the Rwenzori Mountains which border present-day Uganda and DR Congo. Some of the Nile waters flow from the peaks of these mountains. This controversy is so dumb. First of all, the pharoes being black won't change a single about you or the world you live in. It's irrelevant. Second of all, the dynastic Egyptians were the most notorious slavers in the entire recorded history of this planet. They enslaved the entire jewish race who were freed only by moses and his miracles. Why would you cry about slavery at the same time claim to be direct decendants of the harshest slavers of them all. Third of all, we have a little area of study called genetic anthropology. Its provqble beyond a reasonable doubt that they were darker skin than eourpoeans. Egypt is in Africa, so yes , they were african. No, they did not look like you. I'm sorry you NEED to hear that.

The issue with voters of all walks voting for Trump, and arriving at a racial answer, is that it's not a one-dimensional decision on the part of millions. There are economic reasons to be considered, as well as other categories, and recent events have accentuated that. There are political ideologies people consider that may include race in certain cases, but it go beyond that.

This is interesting. I speak a Bantu language. My DNA profile indicates some connection with West Africa (Mende, Yoruba, Mandinka and an ethnic group in Guinea-Conakry), and also the Cushitic peoples of Ethiopia. I am related in the male line to or descended from "Mota," a man who lived in central Ethiopia around 2400 BC. I am also related to Pharaoh Ramses III, as are many southern Africans. This eclectic heritage came together around the Great Lakes region, from where the peoples of southern Africa migrated in waves. We tend to think of the Great Lakes as our point of origin because that is where we begin to see cultures that appear familiar to us, but obviously our history is a lot older and goes back to the Sudanic region. This is supported by oral tradition, which names our ancient homeland as "Guruuswa" ("vast grassland, i.e. savannah). Professor Ehret's research confirms what other sources, including oral tradition, have established about our history. Very enjoyable lecture. I wonder if the Professor has had a look at southern Africa, particularly the rise of successive stone city building states from around 600AD, such as Mapungubwe, Zimbabwe, Mutapa etc, which traded with the Portuguese, Arabs and East Asians on the Indian Ocean coast.

North Africa was populated by Caucasians long before the first modern human "black African" existed. You're just making up jealous lies without any evidence to support them. LMAO I have receipts for my claims. Your people only showed up in Egypt and North Africa after they were brought there during the Arab trans-Saharan slave trade, primarily in the last 700 years. It's funny that the slave claims to be master. LMAO Harich et al, 2010 The trans-Saharan slave trade - clues from interpolation analyses and high-resolution characterization of mitochondrial DNA lineages "Conclusions The interpolation analyses and complete sequencing of present mtDNA sub-Saharan lineages observed in North Africa support the genetic impact of recent trans-Saharan migrations, namely the slave trade initiated by the Arab conquest of North Africa in the seventh century. @@The_Truth-Caucasians are the oldest modern human population in existence today. The first source shows Eurasian genetic continuity for at least 40,000 year in North Africa and Egypt. Sub-Saharan people did not leave traces in the North African maternal gene pool for the time of its settlement, some 40,000 years ago." The following is from an assessment of the cultural continuity in North Africa going back more than 315,000 years ago. Notice that the oldest modern human fossils are found at Jebel Irhoud, Morocco, North Africa, not sub-Saharan Africa. Morocco is less than 9 miles from Europe across the Strait of Gibraltar. You can easily see Europe from Africa. Hublin, Jean-Jacques; McPherron, Shannon (31 March 2012) Modern Origins: A North African Perspective Springer Science & Business Media. p. 180. "Anatomically modern humans are known to have been present in North Africa during the Middle Paleolithic (300,000 years ago), as attested by the by Jebel Irhoud. Without morphological discontinuity, the Aterian was succeeded by the Iberomaurusian industry, whose lithic assemblages bore close relations with the Cro-Magnon cultures of Europe and Western Asia, rather than to the contemporary cultures of sub-Saharan Africa or the Horn of Africa. The Iberomaurusian industry was succeeded by the heavily West Asian influenced Capsian industry (8000 BCE to 2700 BCE) in the eastern part of North Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, eastern Algeria, Malta)." Caucasians are the oldest population group that still exists today. You've been lied to.

Someone asked about books on ancient Egypt. It’s amazing how these scholars fail to mention Cheik Anta Diop’s book African origins of civilization. Or Ivan Van Sertima’s work Egypt revisited. Almost everything that was mentioned here has already and more extensively been written about by these two men more than 40 years ago.
